How we helped Milestone systems choose a new subscription management system

Who are Milestone Systems?
Milestone Systems is a Danish company that develops and sells video management software (VMS) for IP-based surveillance systems. Milestone is known for its open-platform approach, which allows customers to integrate various hardware and third-party systems into their surveillance setup. Milestone is a part of the Canon Group (since 2014) but operates independently under its brand.
The company has a strong focus on innovation, cybersecurity, and building smart, connected video solutions.
What constituted the need for a new SMS?
In 2021, Milestone Systems were developing their “Care” subscription and with this new business paradigm, needed an infrastructure for handling recurring billing and IT capabilities linked with managing a subscription. Therefore, Subscrybe helped Milestone with an RFP process to choose the best vendor of a subscription management system.


The challenge: Choosing the right partner
Choosing the right subscription management system requires a strong understanding of needs across the entire organization. As the SMS is at the core of the subscription business, it communicates via APIs to crucial business systems like CRM, accounting, finance, service and marketing. Therefore, making the right choice that fits the business should not be taken lightly.
The result?
A signed SMS contract
After collecting Business Needs and formulating the Strategic Choices, Subscrybe developed a Request for Proposal to send to a long list of suppliers. What followed was a process of narrowing down from 10 to 5 to 2 suppliers, who would receive the RFP. The proposals were examined and Subscrybe aided Milestone in negotiating contracts with the two remaining suppliers. Finally, a vendor was chosen and Milestone was ready to integrate their new subscription partner.
