Summer is just around the corner, and the holidays are approaching fast. Isn’t that just wonderful? I’m probably not the only one who feels that the past six months have been hectic and unpredictable. Both in business and in the world around us. Personally, I’m really looking forward to unplugging and enjoying some time off.
But I won’t be taking a break from subscriptions. So here’s my list of 10 fantastic subscriptions that are especially valuable to keep during the summer. Take a look and feel free to comment! Maybe you have your own suggestions for the ultimate summer subscription hit list.

TV2 Play
Let’s start with the classics. If you don’t already have a subscription to TV 2 Play, now’s the time. A busy summer of sports is high on many people’s holiday agenda. This year will be a bit less hectic than last, but the Tour de France and Jonas Vingegaard’s battle with Pogacar will no doubt be the steady backdrop in many Danish summer houses.
Pling
Entertaining reading belongs to summer. In the past, people would stock up on printed magazines and weeklies, but now, like everything else, it’s digital. And that comes with extra benefits. For instance, you can subscribe to Pling, Aller Media’s digital magazine service. For just 99 DKK per month, you get access not only to Aller’s own titles, but also to a wide range of international magazines like The New Yorker, Time, Cosmopolitan, and Vanity Fair.
Freeletics
Are you the type who returns from vacation five kilos heavier, or do you use the extra time to boost your fitness? I suspect the former, but hope for the latter. At least for myself. This year, I’m determined to do better, and the Freeletics fitness app is a great help. It combines AI with human expertise to create a personalized workout program based on your goals and progress.

Mofibo
More and more people prefer listening to books over reading them. I still enjoy reading the old-fashioned way, but audiobooks suit me particularly well in summer. I can enjoy the outdoors and multitask while diving into a good story. Plus, they don’t take up any room in the suitcase. Mofibo is the leading audiobook platform, so be sure to bring it along on your summer vacation.
Aarstiderne
Many people pause their meal box subscriptions during summer. But that doesn’t mean you have to give up on amazing vegetables from Aarstiderne. In fact, they’re even more flavorful this time of year. When I pause my meal kits, I switch to a weekly delivery of fresh vegetables instead. That way, I always have ingredients on hand for a delicious salad or a tasty side to whatever’s on the grill.
Park4Night
Do you love parking and spending the night in stunning nature with ocean views or mountain air? Do you even own a camper van? Then Park4Night is essential. It’s your guide to the best overnight spots across the globe. And with a subscription to Park4Night+, you unlock even more features and benefits.

Duolingo
Of course, the digital language tutor Duolingo has to make the list. If you’re heading abroad, it’s great to brush up on the basics: “Hello,” “Thank you,” and “Two beers.” That’ll get you pretty far! Whether it’s German, Spanish, French, Greek, or Italian. Or one of the other 36 languages Duolingo offers. You can start for free and upgrade to Super Duolingo once you’re hooked.
Bilabonnement.dk
Maybe you’re wise enough not to own a car during everyday life. But come vacation time, your needs can change. Heading to a summer house or touring the Danish countryside. Or planning a road trip abroad? Then a car subscription might be just what you need. At Bilabonnement.dk, you can subscribe to a car for three months. And if your needs are more occasional, check out GreenMobility. Their subscription gives you even better rates.
LaListe
I love great food and visiting great restaurants when I travel. That’s why you’ll never catch me using TripAdvisor. And you shouldn’t either! Instead, use the brilliant LaListe app, which uses AI and trusted food critics from around the world to guide you to the best restaurants wherever you are. From high-end gourmet dining to affordable local gems. You get 10 minutes free each day, or unlock full access with a subscription.

La Cabra
Hopefully, your workplace provides good coffee! But what about during the holidays (and weekends, for that matter)? You shouldn’t compromise on a great coffee experience. La Cabra (who also run coffee bars in Aarhus, Copenhagen, and New York) offers some of the best coffee beans you can buy. Even better, you can get them as a subscription.
I hope this inspired you to make subscriptions a part of your summer. Let me know if any of the ones above caught your interest. Or if you have other great candidates to add to the list.
Enjoy your summer!
